The DMP2000 / DMP3000 / DMP4000 Printer Service Manual is Amstrad plc's combined service manual for three dot-matrix printers. It has 22 pages and a text layer. Specifications

Page 2 prints the DMP2000 and DMP3000 side by side. Both are impact dot-matrix printers with 9 × 9 characters, Centronics-compatible parallel interfaces and 220–240 V AC 50 Hz supplies. The DMP2000 is rated at 105 cps maximum; the DMP3000 at 105 cps for normal characters and 52 cps double width, and it adds italics. Both list pica (10 cpi, 80 columns), elite (12 cpi, 96 columns) and the double-width and double-width condensed sizes; the condensed size (17 cpi, 137 characters per line) is listed for the DMP2000 only. The DMP2000 measures 380 × 100 × 260 mm; the DMP3000 400 × 250 × 100 mm and 4.2 kg.

The DMP4000 (p. 13) is a wide-carriage wire dot-matrix printer: 200 cps standard and 50 cps near letter quality, 136 columns standard and 233 condensed, tractor paper 3 to 16½ inches wide, 600 × 350 × 120 mm and 9.5 kg.

What it covers

The DMP2000/3000 electrical parts list (p. 12) gives part numbers for the ICs, including the µPD7811G-071 controller (IC6) and the L7805CY regulator (IC18), the transistors, diodes, S4VB10 and S2VB10 bridge rectifiers, the mains transformer and filter coil, and the resistors and capacitors by value. The DMP4000 list (p. 18) is laid out the same way and includes the 7805 regulator, a 4700 µF / 16 V capacitor at C2 and three fuses: T1A, T5A and T3.15A, all 250 V. The printer mechanism parts list (p. 7) and the DMP4000 mechanism list (p. 14) give mechanical part numbers, including the DMP4000 print head (190972).

What this manual does not contain

• Troubleshooting or fault-symptom tables of the kind in the DMP1 manual.
• Adjustment procedures.
• The DMP1 or the LQ3500.

The standalone DMP2000 manual is a separate 12-page edition for the DMP2000 alone, with its drawings in a different order.
