Macintosh Performa 6290CD
The Macintosh Performa 6290CD is a PowerPC-based desktop computer introduced by Apple Computer in January 1996.[1] It is an upgraded variant of the Performa 6200CD with a faster PowerPC 603e processor at 100 MHz and a larger hard drive, sold exclusively in North America.

The Performa 6290CD differs from the Performa 6200CD in the following ways:

Architecture and Processor
The Performa 6290CD uses a PowerPC 603e processor running at 100 MHz with a 40 MHz system bus (vs 37.5 MHz on the base 6200CD). The 603e offers improved performance over the original 603.
