Contents

What this manual does not contain
[edit | edit source]It is a user guide. There are no FRU numbers, service removal procedures, symptom-to-FRU index, supply voltages, schematics or component values. The service manual for the same machine is the IBM PS2 Model 30 286 Hardware Maintenance Reference.
What it settles
[edit | edit source]The voltage selector switch, where fitted: for a 90-137 V supply slide it to the right (115 V), which is the setting for the United States and Canada (100-125 V); for a 180-265 V supply slide it to the left (230 V) (p. 1-3).
A forgotten power-on password is reset with jumper J13 on the system board. If it covers pins 1 and 2 move it to pins 2 and 3, or the other way round, and leave it in the new position until the next reset; then set a new password (pp. 3-4 to 3-5).
