IBM Personal System/2 and Personal Computer Publication and Education References, as of 13 January 1989. 72 pages.

IBM's own description: "The following list of PC publications is for marketing and market support purposes. This list was taken from the product Ivory Letters and all other known sources. The bulk of the publication numbers pertain to PC hardware."

For anyone trying to establish whether a manual exists, this is one of the most useful documents on this wiki: it is a checklist of what IBM published for the PC and PS/2 lines, by product, with form numbers.

  • 3270 Communications (21); PC/370 VM-PC (21); the 3270-PC family (22) including the 3270-PC and PC/AT (22) and the 3270-PC/G, /GX, -AT/G and -AT/GX (24).

What it does not contain

A bibliography, not documentation: it contains none of the technical content of the manuals it lists. Prices and availability are as of January 1989 and are long obsolete. Education course listings are interleaved with the publication lists.

What it settles

It settles "does a manual for this exist?" questions without guesswork. If IBM published a technical reference or maintenance library volume for a PC-family product before 1989, it is listed here with its form number — so a search can be made for a specific document rather than for a hopeful description. It is also the quickest cross-check on a form number quoted elsewhere.
