The Macintosh Performa 588CD is the consumer variant of the Macintosh LC 580, sold exclusively in Europe and Asia starting April 1, 1995.[1] In Japan, the 588CD shipped with KanjiTalk 7.5 for Japanese language support. The model shares its hardware platform with the Macintosh Performa 580CD but was marketed in different regions.
Hardware Overview
The Performa 588CD shares its logic board with the Macintosh LC 580 and uses the same LC 630-derived architecture:
