The Color Mac: Design Production Techniques is a 1992 book by Marc D. Miller and Randy Zaucha, published by Hayden, Carmel, Indiana. ISBN 0-672-30025-7, Library of Congress Catalog No. 92-71248. The printing line shows the scan is of the second printing.[1] The Library of Congress record gives the extent as xiv, 334 pages.[2]

It is a guide to colour prepress on the Macintosh: scanning, image editing, colour correction, four-colour separation, film recording and video output, and setting up a production environment. Miller taught at the Graphic Arts Institute of Northern California in San Francisco; Zaucha was a journeyman colour scanner operator and scanner trainer.[3] The foreword is by Howard Barney and John Stewart of Barneyscan Corporation.[4]

What this book does not contain

It is about colour reproduction, not the Macintosh's colour hardware. It has no service procedures, monitor alignment data or electrical information; Apple's display service manuals are in Category:Apple Service Source, for example Apple Multiple Scan 15 Service Source. The hosted scan has 333 PDF pages, fewer than the printed xiv + 334, and skips a page at several chapter openings.
