AppleVision 850 and 850AV Displays User's Manual
Appearance
The AppleVision 850 and 850AV Displays User's Manual is Apple's owner's manual for the AppleVision 850 and 850AV 20-inch displays. The hosted file is the 112-page PDF edition Apple produced in 2001; its document title, "0309653AAV850850AVUM", suggests Apple document number 030-9653-A. It has no cover or title page: it opens at chapter 1 and the contents list is at the back (PDF pp. 108-111).[1]
Contents

What it settles
[edit | edit source]| Mode | Power | Power light |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | Under 150 W (850); under 180 W (850AV) | Green |
| Monitor sleep | Under 30 W | Orange |
| System sleep | Under 5 W (850 and 850AV with speakers off); under 30 W (850AV with speakers on) | Orange |
- Clean the screen with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner on a soft cloth; cleaners containing alcohol or acetone can damage it (p. 66).
- Restarting with Command-Option-A-V held down resets the display to its factory settings (p. 68).
- One or two thin grey lines near the top and bottom of the screen are a normal feature of the Trinitron tube (p. 70).[1]
What it does not contain
[edit | edit source]No service information: it warns against removing the cover and refers repairs to Apple. The Service Source gives 190 W maximum for the 850AV against the manual's "under 180 W" in normal use.[1][2]
