[edit | edit source]The Atari Light Pen Operator's Manual, model CX70, is Atari, Inc.'s manual C016367 Rev. 1, © 1981, for use with the Atari 400 and Atari 800. The hosted scan has 68 PDF pages: the cover, the title and copyright page, the contents and list of illustrations, and 64 numbered pages. Printed page n is PDF page n + 4. The scan has a text layer, but its OCR is unreliable in places, particularly in the program listings.

What this manual does not contain
[edit | edit source]- A schematic, parts list or any electrical specification of the pen. It names the phototransistor in the tip (p. 43) but gives no part number.
- Service or disassembly information. Appendix C tells owners not to take the pen apart and to refer repairs to an Atari Service Center.
- The cassette itself; its PALLET programs are described in section 4.
Appendix A (p. 47) prints a horizontal correction (add 154, subtract 128 if the reading is below 10) that does not agree with line 40 of programming example 1 (p. 29), X=Q+154-228*(Q>10). The program line gives the 0 to 159 range that the appendix describes.
