Its contents list runs: 1 Diagnostic Programs (RAM test, ROM test, function check) p. 1; 2 Block Diagram p. 17; 3 Signal Code Table p. 18; 4 Memory Map p. 20; 5 Schematic Diagram (power supply and keyboard p. 21, main board p. 23); 6 Parts Location p. 24; 7 Waveforms p. 26; 8 Circuit Descriptions (timing generator, CPU, dynamic RAM, ROM, video RAM, character generator RAM, CRT controller and video interface, PIA, interrupts) p. 29; 9 Character Code p. 60; 10 Connector Pin Identification (display, tape, printer, joystick, external bus, optional RS-232C) p. 61; 11 LSI and IC Pin Configuration (MN1800A, MN1544CJR, MN4864CA2 and CB2, HM4864P3, HM6116P3, MN1271, HD61K201F, TTL) p. 64; 12 Disassembly p. 73; then exploded views, troubleshooting flowcharts and the replacement parts list.[3] The scan's PDF page numbers run two ahead of the printed numbers in the early sections and one behind them from the disassembly section on.
What these documents do not contain
[edit | edit source]- The service manual covers the 120 V NTSC JR-200U only. It gives no information on the Japanese National JR-200 or the PAL JR-200UP, whose timing is generated differently.[4]
- The scan has no usable text layer, every page carries a "Vintage Volts" watermark, and the disassembly page and one troubleshooting chart are partly smudged. The troubleshooting flowcharts and the parts list are printed sideways.
