Psion Revo Handbook
The Psion Revo Handbook is Psion Computers PLC's user manual for the Psion Revo: version 1.1, February 2000, part no. 6070 0001 01, in English.[1] The PDF has 222 pages, and the printed page numbers match the PDF page numbers. The page footers carry print-file dates of 3 February 2000.[1]
It is a user manual, not a service document. For a repairer it is the manufacturer's source for the Revo's battery, charging and reset behaviour and for its specification.

What it settles
[edit | edit source]- Psion's specification (p. 206): 157 × 79 × 18 mm; 200 g; 480 × 160 greyscale reflective display; 8 MB or 16 MB ROM depending on model; 8 MB RAM; ARM 710T core at 36.864 MHz; two 650 mAh AAA NiMH cells; 6 V DC ± 10 %, 500 mA mains adaptor; 53-key keyboard; operating temperature +5 to +40 °C, storage −10 to +40 °C.[2]
- Charging and battery life (pp. 17-18): a fast charge followed by a trickle charge taking about 4½ hours to reach 100 %, with the red charging light going out during the trickle stage; a first full charge of up to 6 hours; about 12 hours of use; information kept for about 2 weeks after the battery runs down, and for 6 weeks when fully charged and switched off.[3]
- The care chapter advises recharging regularly and keeping the battery topped up, and says the battery performs better in the long term if it is not regularly run down completely before recharging. A switched-off Revo uses about 1 % of its charge per day.[4]
- Resets (p. 202): soft reset through the hole marked 1; hard reset by pressing both ends of an unfolded paper clip into holes 1 and 2 together, then pressing Esc (On) twice. One beep on switching on confirms a hard reset; two beeps mean only a soft reset took place.[5]
What it does not contain
[edit | edit source]- No disassembly, parts list, schematic or component values, and no battery replacement procedure; the handbook says there are no user-serviceable parts inside[6]
