What it settles

[edit | edit source]
  • Battery life: about 35 to 40 hours on alkaline LR6 cells and about 5 hours on NiCd cells (p. 43).
  • The lithium backup cell is a CR2032 with an estimated life of five years, and is to be changed with good alkaline cells fitted or the adaptor connected (p. 43).
  • Only the supplied mains adaptor is to be used (p. 4).
  • The reset: switch off, hold Function, Stop and ←Del and switch on; it erases the Notepad's memory but not a memory card (p. 60).
  • Serial transfers drain the batteries faster than normal use (p. 109).

What it does not contain

[edit | edit source]

There is no circuit diagram, parts list, specification table or service information. Böhling's community teardown, Amstrad NC100 Surgical Guide, covers the board. The NC150 and NC200 are not covered.
