The Macintosh Performa 6310CD is a PowerPC-based desktop personal computer manufactured by Apple Computer, Inc. and released on February 14, 1996.[1] It is the European and Asian version of the Performa 6300CD, featuring identical specifications: a 100 MHz PowerPC 603e processor, 16 MB of RAM, a 1.2 GB IDE hard drive, and a 4X CD-ROM drive in a compact desktop case based on the Macintosh Quadra 630 form factor.
The Performa 6310CD shares its logic board (Model M3076, Gestalt ID 42) with the Performa 6300CD and Performa 5300CD all-in-one system.

The Performa 6360 is the exception on almost every line. Apple gives it 16-bit stereophonic input and output with SRS 3D Surround Sound, a sound-input connector at line level 2 Vpp maximum into 10 kilohms and an output at 2 Vpp maximum into 32 ohms, one built-in speaker rather than two, one 6.88-inch PCI slot in place of the processor-direct slot, GeoPort-compatible serial ports, and memory in two 168-pin, 70 ns DIMM sockets expandable to 136 MB where the rest of the family uses two 72-pin, 80 ns SIMM sockets to 64 MB.[2]
Two things in this volume are Apple's own errors and are not repeated here: a "Video Screen: 15-inch 0.28 mm dot-pitch CRT" entry, which belongs to the 5200-series all-in-one and not to a desktop machine, and the battery instruction printed as "Unplug 4.5 V battery" in this volume but as "Unplug 5.4 battery" in the 630-series volumes for the identical step.[2]
