The Macintosh Performa 405 is a consumer-oriented personal computer introduced by Apple Computer on April 12, 1993.[1] It is a rebrand of the LC II and is identical to the Performa 400, but shipped with 256 KB of VRAM instead of 512 KB and included a 12" Apple color monitor.
The Performa 405 uses a Motorola 68030 processor running at 16 MHz with a 16-bit data path. It shipped with 4 MB of RAM (expandable to 10 MB using 30-pin SIMMs) and an 80 MB SCSI hard drive.

Relationship to LC II
[edit | edit source]The Performa 405 is identical to the LC II internally. The only difference from the Performa 400 is the reduced VRAM configuration (256 KB vs 512 KB).
