The Macintosh Performa 405 is a consumer-oriented personal computer introduced by Apple Computer on April 12, 1993.[1] It is a rebrand of the LC II and is identical to the Performa 400, but shipped with 256 KB of VRAM instead of 512 KB and included a 12" Apple color monitor.

The Performa 405 uses a Motorola 68030 processor running at 16 MHz with a 16-bit data path. It shipped with 4 MB of RAM (expandable to 10 MB using 30-pin SIMMs) and an 80 MB SCSI hard drive.

Relationship to LC II

The Performa 405 is identical to the LC II internally. The only difference from the Performa 400 is the reduced VRAM configuration (256 KB vs 512 KB).
