The Atari SM147 is a 14-inch paper-white monochrome monitor for the Atari ST family, sold in North America from early 1992. Quadrant Components of Fremont, California, built it for Atari from its own QC-1438S, and it has a flat-faced picture tube. Unlike Atari's earlier monochrome monitors it has no built-in speaker.[1]

The monitor contains a picture tube and mains-voltage circuits. Read CRT Discharge Procedure before opening the case.

History

[edit | edit source]

atari-computermuseum.de records that Atari showed the SM147 at the Winter NAMM show in Anaheim on 17 January 1992, priced it at US$165, and sold it in North America from the first quarter of 1992 but not in Europe. Production ended in 1993.[1] The Atari parts dealer Best Electronics lists reconditioned United States SM147s with the mains lead and the ST video cable built in.[2]
