Documentation for the Atari SM194 19-inch monochrome monitor.

SM194 technical manual

[edit | edit source]

A 41-page scan with an Atari cover reading "SM194 Technical Manual, Februari 1991". Most of it is Moniterm Corporation's technical manual for its VCX series monitors, which the SM194 is; the appendix adds Moniterm's alignment specification and notes in Dutch on Atari Benelux letterhead.[1]

What this manual does not contain

[edit | edit source]
  • A parts list.
  • Step-by-step alignment procedures. The alignment specification gives the targets and refers to paragraph numbers in a Moniterm procedure that is not included.[1]
  • Figures specific to the SM194 in the main text, which describes the VCX series at a typical 66 kHz; the alignment specification is the SM194-specific page.
  • The interface card for the Mega ST. The Atari Document Archive catalogues a separate Atari SM194 Controller Board and Monitor Installation Manual (Version A, May 1989), which is not on the Internet Archive.[2]
