The autumn 1993 Apple Catalog offered three bags for PowerBooks and a bundle that included a fourth:[1]

PowerBook Duo carrying case

[edit | edit source]

The Computer History Museum holds a Macintosh PowerBook Duo 280c carrying case, which it catalogues as made by Apple Computer around 1994 and weighing 1 lb. It is a black zipped case with a carrying handle.[2]

Battery carrying case

[edit | edit source]

A charged PowerBook battery pack can short across its brass corner contacts and get hot enough to burn or start a fire. Apple's 1992 safety notice says to keep a pack that is out of the computer and the recharger in an insulating carrying case, and offered the case free (service part 076-0590) to owners whose battery came without one.[3] See Battery Explosion, Capacitor or Corrosion Damage for what to do with a damaged or leaking pack.
