The Power Macintosh 5260 is an all-in-one Macintosh computer released on March 10, 1996.[1] It features a PowerPC 603e processor running at 100 MHz with 8 MB or 16 MB of RAM.
This model was sold only to the educational market in North America, in addition to the consumer market in Asia and Australia. The consumer version, the Performa 5260CD, was sold worldwide.
Hardware Overview
Processor and Memory
The Power Macintosh 5260 uses a PowerPC 603e processor at 100 MHz with a 40 MHz system bus. It has a 32-bit processor with a 64-bit data path. The system includes 32K of L1 cache and supports optional 256K L2 cache.
RAM uses 72-pin SIMMs at 80 ns minimum speed, with 2 RAM slots supporting up to 64 MB total. 1 MB of system RAM is dedicated to video function.
Storage
The system includes an 800 MB IDE hard drive and a 4X CD-ROM drive. A 1.44 MB floppy drive is standard.
Display
The built-in 14" shadow mask CRT displays 640×480 at 16-bit color.
Expansion
The system has one LC PDS slot, plus Comm, TV, and video input/output expansion slots.
