Macintosh Portrait Display Service Source
The Macintosh Portrait Display volume of Apple's Service Source is Apple's 108-page module-level service manual for the Macintosh Portrait Display, Apple's 15-inch monochrome portrait monitor. The PDF was created on 5 December 1995 for the Service Source CD. Chapters are numbered from page 1 each.
Apple made domestic and international versions of the Portrait Display, and their troubleshooting and repair procedures differ. This manual covers the domestic version only; Apple refers the international "Series B" to a separate manual (Basics p. 1).

What this manual does not contain
[edit | edit source]- No schematics, no component-level parts list and no component values.
- The international "Series B" display.
- No anode (EHT) voltage figure; the only test-point voltage is the 55 V bias setting.
- Two separate video procedures, "With Screen Control" and "Without Screen Control"; Apple directs the technician to the second if the monitor has no screen control, so check which one applies before starting.
