Macintosh Performa 467
The Macintosh Performa 467 is a desktop Macintosh sold by Apple through consumer retail shops. It is the Macintosh LC III+ under a Performa name: a 33 MHz version of the Macintosh LC III.[1][2] EveryMac describes it as the Performa 466 with a "business software" bundle.[1] Both have a 160 MB hard drive and the Performa Display Plus in Apple's manual.[2]
Apple gives the introduction date as October 18, 1993, with System 7.1P3 and System Enabler 308 as the original system software.[3] EveryMac gives a US price of US$1,500, discontinuation on November 1, 1993, order number M1981LL/A and model number M1254.[1]

Sources: Apple's technical specifications, the Performa 400 Series Service Source, pp. 3–15, and the Macintosh LC III Developer Note, p. 2.[3][2][4] The Service Source prints no maximum-power figure for the 460, 466 and 467.
The coprocessor socket is a PLCC socket for a 68882; no FPU is fitted as standard.[3][4] With the on-board 512 KB of VRAM the machine shows 256 colours at 640 × 480 and 832 × 624; with 768 KB it shows thousands. A 512K VRAM SIMM fits the socket, but only 256K of it is used.[3] The processor-direct slot has a power budget of 4 W.[4]
The PRAM battery is a 3.6 V lithium cell, Apple part 742-0011; Apple says to replace it below 3.0 V. The power supply is part 661-1733, shared with the whole LC family.[3][2]
Known faults
[edit | edit source]- Leaking surface-mount electrolytic capacitors on the logic board and in the power supply. The board list is on Macintosh LC III+ Capacitor Replacement Guide.
- C22 on the LC III logic board, the 47 µF capacitor on the −5 V rail, is printed and fitted the wrong way round at the factory. Doug Brown's article treats the Performa 460, 466 and 467 as the same design. Serial-port faults after a recap point there.[5]
- A flat PRAM battery: Apple's charts for this family put "Check batteries" first for "No video" and in the no-power entries.[2]
See Macintosh Performa 460 Troubleshooting, which applies to all three models, and Macintosh LC III+ Troubleshooting.
Service documentation
[edit | edit source]Apple covers the Performa 467 in the Macintosh Performa 400 Series Service Source. The Macintosh LC III Developer Note describes the hardware.[2][4]
