[edit | edit source]It covers setting up the computer, the Control Strip and control panels, power management and the batteries (chapter 6, from p. 63), expansion with the PCMCIA module and RAM, connecting printers, monitors, SCSI devices and networks, and tips and troubleshooting (chapter 12, from p. 115).
What it settles
[edit | edit source]- Recharging takes about two hours with the computer shut down or asleep and about four hours in use (p. 65).
- Use only the power adapter that came with the computer (p. 65).
- Depleted batteries left in the computer for more than two weeks, especially somewhere hot, may be damaged beyond recharging (p. 65).
- Damaged NiMH batteries can leak potassium hydroxide; wash affected skin with water for at least five minutes (p. 67).
- With one battery, discharge and recharge it fully every 90 days; with two, swap them monthly (p. 68).
